MARGATE – The Police Department now has a full contingent of Class 2 Special Officers who will assist the department during the summer season.

On Thursday, May 6, Commissioner of Public Safety John Amodeo swore-in three officers during the Board of Commissioners meeting. They include Brendan Campbell, Joseph Szaor and Kyle Roscoe.

The meeting was held at Historic City Hall and each officer was sworn-in separately to observe social distancing protocols.

Joseph Szaor is sworn-in as a Special Class 2 officer on Margate Police force.

Amodeo welcomed them to “the best police force in the country,” and said they were all “very talented individuals.”

Police Chief Matt Hankinson said Special Officer Josh Donovan, who came on board last year, would round out the four member team. No other special officers will be hired this year, he said.
