Seth Grossman and Vince Polistina are vying for the Republican nomination in the June 8 primary.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Candidates for the Republican nomination for the 2nd Legislative District state Senate seat shared their positions on various issues in a Q&A posted online Tuesday by the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University.

The Hughes Center, which works to help voters make informed choices, submitted the same four questions to GOP Senate primary candidates Seth Grossman and Vince Polistina. Their unedited responses are on the Hughes Center website at stockton.edu/hughescenter.

The GOP Senate race in the 2nd District, which covers most of Atlantic County, is the only contested legislative primary in the surrounding region. Democratic Assemblyman Vincent Mazzeo is running unopposed in the June 8 primary for the 2nd District Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Chris Brown.

The Hughes Center partnered with the League of Women Voters in April to host a candidates’ forum with Democratic primary candidates for Atlantic County Clerk. A video of that forum can be viewed on the Hughes Center website, stockton.edu/hughescenter.

John Froonjian, executive director of the Hughes Center, said he hopes to work with local news and civic organizations to hold general election candidate debates in the fall.
