VENTNOR – Police arrested a Ventnor City man in the early morning hours Wednesday, May 26 and charged him with various offenses, according to a release from Capt. Joe Fussner.

Officer Gabriel Henao was on patrol on the boardwalk near Surrey Avenue at 4:08 a.m. when he observed a man riding a bicycle and pulling a second bicycle. While speaking with the subject, the man discarded drug paraphernalia and fled on foot. He was quickly located and placed into custody.

He was identified as David P. Raza, 42, of Ventnor. A warrant check revealed Raza to be a fugitive from justice and wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service.

A further investigation determined that both bicycles were stolen from a residence in Ventnor. Along with the fugitive from justice charge, Raza was charged with resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, hindering apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
