VENTNOR – Shirat Hayam Conservative and Reform Synagogue will be hosting its summertime “Devotion by the Ocean,” 6 p.m. Friday evenings, July 23, 30 and Aug. 6 and 20 on the beach at Newport Avenue.

The service will be held behind the Ventnor library. In the event of bad weather, the service will be held at the synagogue, 700 N. Swarthmore Ave.

The synagogue will be celebrating its five-year anniversary as a merged synagogue by holding a “Bayside Bash,” 3-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8 at its facility on Swarthmore Avenue. Rain date is Aug. 15.

The event is free and parking is available. Event includes a children’s talent program, inflatable slide, arts and crafts, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and falafel. Entertainment will be provided by singer-songwriter Rebecca Schoffer and the B’nai Shalom Band. The Wetlands Institute will also feature its traveling turtles and sea creatures.
