The Old Coots at the Ventnor City Farmers Market meet Friday mornings throughout summer.

VENTNOR – Like their motto clearly states, “It may not be the best advice, but it’s free!” And, that’s exactly what you get when visiting the Old Coots (and Cooteses) booth at the Ventnor Farmers Market on Friday mornings. What do you get if you stop by? Mature wisdom – some good old fashioned and solid advice from the older and wiser. And, it is absolutely free.
The Old Coots have been a regular draw at the Ventnor Market for the last few years. Questions and advice posed to the venerable coots gang range from marital problems to business decisions to best recipes for pickling the cukes just purchased at the market.
One happy and satisfied customer returned to the booth last week. The young woman, pushing a stroller with a 18-month-old girl, popped her head into the booth to say hello. About two years ago, she asked the coots for advice. She and her husband were debating whether or not they should have a third child. The Coots all agreed that yes, she should have another baby. The result was a beautiful baby girl that put a smile on everyone’s face when she visited the booth.
So, stop on by and pose your question or problem to our oh-so-wise-ones. No crystal balls. No Ouija boards. Just hundreds of collective years of wisdom that only an Old Coot(es) can possess. The best bargain on the island.
