ACUA provides trash, recycling and yard waste collections in the Downbeach area.

VENTNOR – Yard waste collection will be delayed again this week according to a post from the Atlantic County Utilities Authority.

“Like many businesses, we are extremely short staffed, and it has been a challenge to fill open positions,” explained ACUA President Rick Dovey. “On top of this, the summer season is always our busiest. While we are doing all that we can to bring on new team members, such as recruiting aggressively and making modifications to our existing staff assignments, we have still had to delay collections, namely yard waste, to ensure all our regular trash and recycling routes are performed.”

Dovey said the ACUA team understands residents are being inconvenience, and asks the community to leave their items at the curb for pickup later in the week.

“We apologize for the continued delays and appreciate everyone’s patience. Our team has been working extremely hard to deliver service throughout this especially difficult season,” Dovey added.

ACUA asks residents to leave material curbside and to check the website acua.com and social media sites for service updates. Residents can also sign up for text alerts and reminders online at acua.com.

The ACUA is currently seeking drivers and laborers for collections. Full time regular and seasonal positions are available. Apply online at http://acua.com/work-with-us/careers/
