Margate’s 9/11 ceremony was held at the PAC last year. This year, it will be back at Firehouse No. 1. Here, Firefighter Dan Germana rings the Five Five’s.

MARGATE – The Margate City Fire Department will hold its annual ceremony in memory of those who perished in the attacks on the United States on Sept. 11 at Fire Station No. 1 at Ventnor and Washington avenues.

In compliance with COVID-19 protocols, last year’s event was held in the parking lot at the Dominick A. Potena Performing Arts Center, but since the event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 when children are not attending school, it has moved back to the firehouse.

The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

The service will last approximately 25 minutes and include prayer by local clergy, music tributes, and comments by local dignitaries. The public is encouraged to attend this solemn ceremony.
