Dorset Avenue Bridge

VENTNOR – The Ventnor City Police Department Office of Emergency Management has issued an important traffic advisory as a result of moderate flooding inundating low-lying areas. The Dorset Avenue bridge and Wellington Avenue are impassable due to flooding from the high tide.

Public safety officials advise motorists to drive safely and responsibly. Be courteous to surrounding streets that might be flooded as well. The wakes created by vehicles greatly enhance the water damage to residences and businesses.

Do NOT drive through flood waters. Do NOT drive around barricades. They are there for your safety. Turn around, don’t drown.

The city expects to have traffic flowing and continue normal operations again in approximately two hours. However, another high tide will occur in the evening hours and the roadways may again be impassable.

Please be patient and respect your first responders.
