Egg Harbor Township Police Department
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The body of a man was discovered in the water off Longport Boulevard Wednesday morning.
Capt. Edward Cairns, 71, of Egg Harbor Township, who lived on his boat, is believed to have fallen off his boat and was unable to get back on board.
An autopsy is being performed to determine cause of death, which is not believed to be suspicious.
According to the NJ State Police Marine Unit, Egg Harbor Township Police are investigating the case. The Scullville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
