MARGATE – The Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University will present a free public program in honor of Memorial Day 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at the Milton & Betty Katz Jewish Community Center, 501 North Jerome Ave.

The presentation by Irvin Moreno-Rodriguez and Holocaust Center Executive Director Gail Rosenthal will focus on the role and impact of the United States Armed Forces during WWII. The presentation will include a short film about U.S. Army Sgt. Roddie Edmonds who risked his life to save American Jewish servicemen who had been captured, and Leon Bass, a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who was an educator and witness to the Holocaust.

There will also be information about the local Garr-Greenstein-Friedenberg Post 39 of the Jewish War Veterans. For more information call the Holocaust Center at 609-652-4699.
