Members of the Atlantic County Association of Chiefs of Police visit the 177th Fighter Wing.

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Police chiefs from Downbeach and other communities last week visited the 177th Fighter Wing of the NJ Air National Guard stationed at Atlantic City Airport to observe the Wing’s leadership and discuss how to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the military. Longport Police Chief Frank Culmone and Ventnor Police Chief Joe Fussner were among the participants.

During their visit, members of the Atlantic County Association of Chiefs of Police observed multiple U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon takeoffs and observed an F-16C static display.

Also last week, the Fighter Wing received a visit from Congressman Jeff Van Drew (R-2nd) who toured its maintenance facility.

And on May 14, the Atlantic City International Airport held a full-scale emergency exercise to test the response to a major incident at the airport.
