Holy Trinity Parish St. Vincent dePaul Society to hold annual walk for the poor, June 4.

VENTNOR – The St. Vincent DePaul Society of Holy Trinity Parish will host its eighth annual “Friends of the Poor Walk/Run” 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4 on the Ventnor boardwalk. The event is being held in memory of Jack Mahon. On-site registration starts at 9 a.m. at the gazebo on Newport Avenue at the beach.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers assistance to Downbeach residents who are experiencing financial difficulties. The society offers confidential financial assistance to help with utility bills, rent, mortgage and other immediate needs.

Registration for the 4.2-mile walk/run is $20, with children under 12 free, and includes an event T-shirt and refreshments at St. James Memorial Hall on Newport Avenue following the walk. Door prizes will be awarded.

Signups are available at fopwalk.org, or on site the day of the event.
