LONGPORT – The Longport Public Library will host a talk with Laurie Zaleski, the author of “Funny Farm: My Unexpected Life with 600 Rescue Animals,” 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave.

Zaleski, who lives in Mays Landing, runs the 15-acre Funny Farm Animal Rescue facility in the Pinelands where she rescues abused and neglected animals, including horses, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and chickens.

The talk will be held in the park behind Borough Hall, so bring your own chair.

The library will also host a cooking class with the chef from Essl’s Dougout, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the Church of the Redeemer Guild Hall, 20th and Atlantic avenues.
