EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – The Sustainable Jersey Atlantic-Cape May Regional Hub will hold a mixer 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Reed’s Organic Farm, 5075 Spruce Ave. The free event will focus on helping local green teams with their efforts to tackle Sustainable Jersey food security actions.

Some of the actions to be discussed include buying fresh, local foods, community food pantries, soup kitchens, summer supplimental nutrition programs, farmers markets, how to make farmers markets accessible to all and establishing community gardens.

The event will also serve to inspire green teams to investigate food democracy collaborations. Speakers will be announced later.

There is no cost to attend, and anyone in Atlantic and Cape May counties, especially green team members, are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. Bring your own chairs and water.
