MARGATE – Steve & Cookie’s By the Bay will be holding its 25th anniversary Dog Show at the restaurant during the Fall Funfest by the Bay, Sunday, Sept. 25.

The dog show, held in the parking lot at the restaurant located at Amherst and Monroe avenues, brings out hundreds of dog lovers and raises money to support the Humane Society of Ocean City and NJ Aid for Animals, which provides resources and support for rescued animals, especially those who are abused or abandoned.

The show attracts some rare and unusual pedigrees as well as mixed breed shelter dogs. Eager to please their pet parents and get a little treat for a job well done, the dogs prance across the stage showing off their good behavior and pet tricks, bringing smiles to the faces of audience members. A panel of judges decides the winners.

There is a $20 entrance fee and awards are offered in several categories, including prettiest and most handsome, best dressed, and best rescue.

Pet parents can register their fur babies in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/…/25th-annual-dog-show…, or onsite starting at 11:30 a.m.

The Scent Works Academy will conduct a K-9 demonstration at 11:30 a.m. and the show begins at 1 p.m.
