LONGPORT – The borough’s Hazard Mitigation Committee and Local Emergency Planning Committee are planning to hold a public meeting 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30 in Commission Chambers at Longport Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave.

The public is invited to attend and participate in the planning process. Members of the Longport Board of Commissioners may be present at this meeting to discuss issues impacting the municipality, but no official action will be taken at the meeting.

The following items will be discussed:

  • Rutala Associates update on grants
  • Borough Engineer update on Winchester Ave Flood Control Phase I and Phase II
  • Longport’s Hazard Mitigation Plan
  • Atlantic County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan
  • Community Rating System outreach projects
  • Repetitive loss analysis
  • NJ Coastal Coalition and the Atlantic Cape Multi-jurisdictional Program for public information
  • Nuisance flooding
  • Flood and severe weather warning apps

A question and answer period follows discussions.
