Motorists and pedestrians can expect traffic delays Saturday and Sunday Oct. 22-23 as thousands of runners participating in the 2022 Atlantic City Marathon Half-marathon and 5- and 10-K races make their way through Downbeach towns.
Motorists can expect detours and shut downs on various roadways from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and pedestrians and runners are urged to use precautions walking or running on the boardwalk in both Atlantic City and Ventnor.
Bicycles are prohibited on the Atlantic City and Ventnor boardwalks during the event, starting at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The Brigantine Connector tunnel will be closed 7-10 a.m. on Sunday.
In Downbeach, Atlantic Avenue from Washington Avenue in Ventnor to 11th Avenue in Longport, and Amherst Avenue from Monroe to Jerome Avenue and Jerome Avenue from Ventnor Avenue to the Margate bridge can expect delays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Police ask that you do not move any barricades. There will be extra police patrols on duty, and you can ask an officer for assistance if you are having trouble getting around town. Officers will be stationed at key points along the race route and will be actively patrolling the area during the race.
