NORTHFIELD – The community is invited to celebrate the installation of Beth Israel synagogue’s new spiritual leader, Rabbi Michael L. Feshbach, the weekend of Nov. 18-19.

The weekend will begin with a Shabbat dinner 6:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, followed by the Installation of Rabbi Feshbach at an Erev Shabbat service at 7:30 p.m. at the synagogue, 2501 Shore Road, Northfield.

The installation will be led by Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Hecht, dean of Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Beth Israel Rabbi Emeritus David M. Weis. An Oneg Shabbat reception will follow the service to welcome Rabbi Feshbach and his wife, Julie Novick.

On Saturday, Nov. 19, there will be Shabbat morning study led by Rabbi Dr. Jonathan Hecht in the Cohen Library at Beth Israel at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Shabbat morning service at 10:30 a.m. and a Shabbat luncheon at 11:30 a.m.

Shabbat services and Shabbat morning study are free and open to all.

The cost for Shabbat dinner is $36 per person. Cost for the luncheon is $18 per person.

RSVPs are needed for the meals. Checks are payable to Beth Israel and reservations are requested by Nov. 15.
