VENTNOR – The city will be buzzing with activity this coming weekend in preparation of a joyous holiday season.

The city will hold its annual Holiday Tree Lighting 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Sacramento Avenue side of City Hall, 6201 Atlantic Ave. The event includes comments from local public officials, light refreshments provided by the Ventnor City Fire Department, and a visit from the man of the hour, Santa Claus. Bring your camera to take pictures of the children providing Santa with their holiday wish list.

Ventnor Cultural Arts Center Holiday Art Show and Sale, Dec. 4-5, 2021.

On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-4, the Ventnor Cultural Arts Center will hold its annual Holiday Art Show & Sale at the library building, 6500 Atlantic Ave. The event is a great way to purchase holiday gifts while supporting the local arts community. Item on sale include pottery, jewelry, paintings, candles, fiber arts and more, all hand crafted by local artisans. The show will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Learn more at ventnorarts.org.

And one of the biggest events of the year, the Twilight Holiday Parade, will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 on Ventnor Avenue. The parade route starts at New Haven Avenue and proceeds north to Nashville Avenue in the North Beach section of the city. The parade includes marching bands, floats, classic cars, a contingent of fire apparatus and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

After the parade the community will gather across from the Ventnor Square Theater to enjoy a holiday market with vendors and food offerings, pony rides, face painting, The Balloon Man, tram car rides and other fun games and activities. Adults will get a chance to win prizes.
