VENTNOR – St. James Church of Holy Trinity Parish held its annual Live Nativity on the gounds surrounding the church Monday evening.

The pageant included live animals from Barnyard Friends of Mays Landing.

The event was hosted by the Knights of Columbus and the Alter and Rosary Society. Members of the parish’s Children’s Choir, under the direction of Teddi Fusco, performed several Christmas carols, while dozens of people waited for the arrival of the Holy Family.

The tradition of holding live nativity scenes was started by St. Francis of Assisi.

Pastor Fr. Pawel Kryszkiewicz blessed the crowd gathered on the lawn and together they recited the Lord’s Prayer, while students told the story of the Birth of Christ.
