GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP The intergenerational program Better Together kicked off the new year with the program, “Seriously Funny—The Soul of Jewish Humor.”

Students had a chance to read some classic Yiddish jokes.

Teens from the Kulanu School of Jewish Studies joined their senior buddies at Seashore Gardens Living Center for an afternoon of connections and laughs on Jan. 8. Highlights of the event included a presentation on Jewish humor by SGLC resident Dr. Marvin Herring and a chance for everyone to tell a classic Jewish joke.

Resident Gloria received a note from her Better Together buddy who had to miss the program, but still wanted to connect.

Better Together is a program of the Board of Jewish Education of Atlantic and Cape May Counties. It connects SGLC residents with Jewish teens from the Kulanu School of Jewish Studies, with programs centering around Jewish values.

SGLC seniors shared some of their favorite jokes as well.
