LONGPORT – The Herb Stern Longport Scholarship Fund has announced it will award up to $25,000 in scholarships in 2023.

Longport resident students who graduate high school this year or who are now in college or graduate school are eligible to apply for scholarship awards.

The application is available at longportscholarshipfund.com. Students may download the form, fill it in, and email it as directed, along with the required supporting documentation, by the deadline on April 1. Applicants will be judged on academic performance, extracurricular activities and work experience. Awards will be determined and announced in April.

A total of $25,000 was awarded to students last year, the largest amount in the fund’s history. Award amounts have increased over the 13 years of operation, with a grand total of $150,000 granted so far.

The fund, a 501c3 organization, is supported by year-round and seasonal residents, and friends of Longport.
