Longport Police Thursday, April 27 arrested a Wilmington, Del., man for allegedly stealing a package from the front of a house on the 1800-block of Atlantic Avenue.

According to a release posted on the Longport Police Facebook page, officers received information about suspicious activity in the neighborhood and their investigation revealed a male, later identified as Jose A. Almonte-Sanchez, 32, had illegally trespassed and committed theft of a postal delivery package from a residence in the area. The package contained an iPad.

Almonte-Sanchez was taken into custody, processed and subsequently charged with trespass, theft and receiving stolen property. He was turned over to the Margate City Police Department for further processing on charges out of that jurisdiction.

Longport Police Department are continuing the investigation.
