Longport designates beach openings, kayak and surfing beaches

LONGPORT – The Board of Commissioners recently designated beaches for the launching and retrieving of kayaks, surfing and surf riding and designated guarded beaches for the summer season.

Kayak beaches are located between 14^th and 15^th avenues, 22^nd and 23 avenues, 27^th and 29^th avenues and 32^nd and 33^rd avenues. Surfing and surf riding beaches are located at 12^th, 22^nd, 28^th and 32^nd avenues during the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Never swim in the ocean unless a lifeguard is present. Beach bathing hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Beach tags are required.

Beaches will be opened and staffed by members of the Longport Beach Patrol as follows:

June 3 – 16^th, 26^th, 30^th, 33^rd avenues

June 10 – 19^th, 31^st, 35^th avenues

June 17 – 13^th, 21^st, Pelham, 34^th avenues

June 24 – 25^th Avenue
