VENTNOR – The Ventnor City Farmers’ Market will be celebrating its seventh year of operation when it opens Friday, May 26 on the grounds of St. James Church at Newport and Atlantic avenues.

The farmers market will be open 8:30 a.m. to noon every Friday through Labor Day weekend.

The city has relaxed parking restrictions during market hours and will allow shoppers to enjoy free parking in the municipal lot located on Newport Avenue, and on the beach-block public parking area outside the Ventnor City Community Building.

This year, shoppers will enjoy more than 65 food and crafts vendors, including many familiar favorites offering Jersey Fresh produce, specialty foods, and hand-crafted items. There are already eight new vendors signed up, including Brookeberry Farms selling organic blackberries and raspberries; Gail’s Eggs; Beach Bee Meadery selling hard ciders and meads; Free Bird Eatery offering plant-based sandwiches and sides; Healthy Hippo smoothies and overnight oat bowls; Kerris Potato & Fry Company offering French fries; Rob’s Nut Sack offering candies pecans, almonds and walnuts; The Soup Bar offering soups and crab cakes; and JCaplan Art offering paint-by-number kits.

The market wouldn’t be complete without the Old Coots Giving Advice booth and face painting, both free for all.
