VENTNOR – The city’s Cultural Arts Center, 6500 Atlantic Ave., is offering a free acting workshop 5:30-7:45 p.m. Thursdays, July 6 through Aug. 24.
“The Heart of Acting – A Scene Study Workshop for Adults” is being presented by Peggy Spencer of Hedgerow Theater School for beginners and experienced actors of all levels.
“While there are many ways to learn and grow as an actor, this workshop will use scene study as a teaching method,” she said in a release. “In addition to working on scenes assigned in class, actors may bring their own scenes and monologues to work on.”
The workshop will focus on basic skills, relaxation, cold readings, approach to character, building imagination, preparing for the collaborative process, listening skills and ensemble acting, among others.
