MARGATE – The newly installed Board of Commissioners is living up to one of its campaign promises and will be forming a Citizens Advisory Committee.

Mayor Michael Collins and Commissioners Maury Blumberg and Cathy Horn made the announcement on the city’s website, margate-nj.com.

The board will be comprised of year-round and second homeowners.

The mayor is also interested in receiving requests to fill a single vacancy on the Board of Education created with the election of former school board President Cathy Horn to the Board of Commissioners. Joel Frankel, DMD, was selected to fill her role as president, and the selected applicant will fill his vacant seat. The deadline to submit a letter of interest is by the end of business on Thursday, June 8. Margate is a Type I school district with board members appointed by the mayor.

Anyone interested in being considered to serve on the committee or the board can submit a letter of interest by email to Amodeo_kelle@margate-nj.com or by mailing it to Mayor Michael Collins at the Margate Municipal Building, 9001 Winchester Ave., Margate, NJ 08402.
