GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Despite the cancellation of the Seashore Gardens Foundation Golf Tour that was scheduled to be held June 21 at Egg Harbor Pines in Egg Harbor Township due to the rainy weather, supporters and volunteers rallied for the cause and raised more than $9,000 for programs and services that enrich elder lives.
Golfers received a voucher to play at a future date at Harbor Pines Golf Club. The Ikebana flower arranging class was moved to the Boardwalk at Seashore Gardens Living Center, giving residents a chance to participate as well. Gift baskets were raffled off at the center with proceeds benefiting programs for seniors who live at the center, including horticultural, music and memory, and art programs.
The Seashore Gardens Foundation Golf Tournament was presented by David Lieberman Insurance. Event co-chairs Jason Goldstein, David Lieberman, and Rich Cohen led the committee of dedicated volunteers, including Howard Bernstein, Shirley Labov Bernstein, Sharon D’Angio, Martin H. Klein, Ethel Frank Levinson, Erin Luurtsema, Michael Stark, and Fran Streeper.
