The 77th annual Margate World War II Memorial Lifeguard Races will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at the Decatur Avenue beach. An awards ceremony will follow the races.

Fifteen South Jersey Beach Patrols from Brigantine to Cape May Point will compete in this historic event which is held annually in honor of World War II veterans.

The Margate Memorials is one of the “big three” races held in South Jersey, which include the South Jersey Championships and the Dutch Hoffman Memorials held in Wildwood.
