AtlantiCare Harmony Pavilion, Atlantic City.

AtlantiCare has gained recognition on the Forbes America’s Best-in-State Employers 2023 list, keeping company with organizations such as Apple, Wegmans, Princeton University and Microsoft. This marks the second consecutive year Forbes has acknowledged AtlantiCare, one of the largest employers in southeastern New Jersey, as a top employer.

“We take pride in this recognition, which reflects our entire team’s unwavering dedication to creating a supportive, inclusive and inspiring workplace for all,” Chief People Officer Dennis Lennon said in a release. “We all contribute to fostering a culture that promotes personal and professional growth and focuses on the overall well-being of our team.”

Forbes and Statista, Inc. named AtlantiCare to the list as a result of an independent survey based on 2.1 million employer recommendations from employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in the United States. AtlantiCare ranked 35th out of 89 employers.

The evaluation was made on a state-by-state basis and is centered on three distinct criteria: in-state indirect recommendations, national in-industry indirect recommendations, and direct recommendations.

Employees were surveyed randomly and asked to give their opinion on a series of over 75 statements surrounding work related topics, including working conditions, recognition, technology, work/life balance, diversity, salary, potential for development and company image.

“I am so proud to add this award from Forbes to the roster of incredible accolades we have received in 2023,” Interim President and CEO Michael Charlton said. “AtlantiCare continues to shine in both patient care and employee experience. I believe that our continued commitment to earning these acknowledgements will set us apart as the employer of choice in South Jersey and beyond.”

AtlantiCare employs more than 6,000 team members at 100 locations in New Jersey. Their recognition from Forbes comes on the heels of multiple other accolades in 2023 including American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet® Recognition, The Leapfrog Group’s “A” Spring Hospital Safety Grade and more.
