MARGATE – The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties will showcase unique, interactive and entertaining programs in September.

DIY Container Gardening, Tuesday, Sept. 5, 10:30 a.m. Embrace your green thumb and join an informative session on creating and maintaining your own manageable container garden. Beautify your porch, deck, balcony, or a sunny space indoors with flowers and veggies. Also, learn about planning and planting flower bulbs for a spectacular spring show. RSVP by Sept. 1.

Positivity Project: Morning Refresh, Thursday, Sept. 7, 10:30 a.m. Explore positivity with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota. You’ll learn ways to boost wellness, mind, body and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation and resiliency. RSVP by Sept. 5.

The Village Movie Society, Tuesday, Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. Join Village film enthusiast and historic cinematic buff Tom Celandine and Tina Serota for a discussion about the movie, “Gentlemen’s Agreement,” starring Gregory Peck and John Garfield. The story centers on a journalist’s assignment for a high profile magazine to write an expose about antisemitism. The reporter pretends to be Jewish and experiences bigotry first-hand. This movie is available on DVD from the Margate and Ventnor libraries or may be viewed on Prime Video or Apple TV. RSVP by Sept. 8.

Lunch Around Town, Wednesday, Sept. 13, noon. Enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends and neighbors while supporting a local restaurant. This month, we’ll dine at Sapore, 6501 Ventnor Ave. in Ventnor. Village Goes to the JCC Active Adult and Senior Expo, Friday, Sept. 29, 10 a.m. Celebrate the older adult community at the JCC Active Adult and Senior Expo. Connect with neighbors and friends in a welcoming atmosphere while learning about programs, resources and services tailored to your lifestyle. There will be active aging vendors, health and wellness screenings, flu shots, COVID boosters and other vaccines, and giveaways. This expo takes place at the Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave. in Margate. Admission is free.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is a membership program for adults age 50+. The program offers grocery shopping and delivery, intergenerational events, transportation, Kosher Meals on Wheels and more.
