Downbeach towns will be conducting their annual 9/11 remembrance services on Monday, Sept. 11.
Longport’s annual 9/11 ceremony will be held 9 a.m. at Thomas B. Reed Park at the foot of the Longport bridge. Firefighters, police and members of American Legion Post 469 will place wreaths memory of those lost in the 9/11 attacks, and those fighting the War on Terror for many years after those attacks. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this brief but meaningful ceremony.
The City of Margate will hold its annual Patriot’s Day and 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony also at 9 a.m. on Sept. 11. The services will honor those who perished during the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The ceremony will be held at Margate Firehouse No. 1, 1 S. Washington Ave. The public is invited to attend.
