The annual ACUA Holiday Food Drive will be held Dec. 4-15 on recycling days.

The Atlantic County Utilities Authority will hold its annual Holiday Food Drive across its service area between Dec. 4 and Dec. 15.. All food items collected will be brought to the Community FoodBank of NJ Southern Branch in Egg Harbor Township for distribution to families during the holidays.

Residents in the Downbeach area can leave a clearly marked bag of non-perishable food items at the curb during their regular trash/recycling pickup days, as follows:

  • Longport – Monday, Dec. 11
  • Margate – Dec. 11-14 (recycling day)
  • Ventnor – Dec. 11-15 (recycling day)

Most needed items are canned tuna, salmon, chicken, ham, soups, fruit, vegetables, shelf stable milk, peanut butter, pasta, boxed potatoes, rice, cereal and Mac & cheese. Disposable diapers and feminine hygiene products are also accepted. Please, no glass, cellophane, bottled water or baby food.
