While the van was primarily designed for the CNT team, Reynolds said it will also serve Special Operations purposes and collaborates with the Atlantic County SWAT team when needed. In addition to its primary function, the CNT plays a crucial role in conducting quarterly training sessions for more than 40 negotiators in the county.

The van was made possible with a grant from the US Department of Homeland Security. The van is equipped with internet capabilities, computers and state-of-the-art CNT technology to provide personnel with the best tools available for peaceful resolutions.

The Atlantic County Board of County Commissioners, the Atlantic County Chief’s Association, and the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management also supported the acquisition.
