LONGPORT – The Board of Commissioners Wednesday, Dec. 6 awarded professional contracts for 2024. Among them are the reappointment of Michael S. Affanato as borough solicitor at a cost not to exceed $30,000.

Other appointments include:

  • Municipal Judge John Rosenberger, three-year term
  • Prosecutor Carl Tripician
  • Conflict Public Defender James P. Swift, $6,000
  • Tax Appeal Attorney/Alternate Solicitor Pacifico Agnellini, $25,000
  • Conflict Public Defender Jerry Steiner
  • Conflict Municipal Prosecutor Kelley Blanchet
  • Municipal Auditor Michael Garcia Ford-Scott Associate
  • Cyber Insurance Mullin Coughlin, $10,000
  • Special Labor Counsel Russell Lichtenstein Cooper Levenson, $15,000

The board also approved its schedule of meetings for the year. Workshop meetings will be held 4 p.m. with regular meetings immediately following on the third Wednesday of the month except for November when the meeting will be held 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22. Also, there will be two meetings in December – 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 2 and Dec. 18.

In other business, the board noted that the playground equipment has been installed at the beachfront park on 33rd Avenue, but the underlayment installation is dependent upon the weather conditions. The temperature must be above 50 degrees for at least 48 hours before the underlayment can be installed, probably not till spring, engineer Ed Dennis Jr. said.
