MARGATE -Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties, 607 N. Jerome Ave. is asking families to visit the Margate office from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 15 to partake in an array of volunteer opportunities on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The event provides the opportunity to bring together people of all ages to participate in activities and programs that will benefit the surrounding community.

On this day of unity, service and transformation, volunteers will:

  • Make greeting cards to accompany meal deliveries to residents
  • Assemble on-the-go bags of ready-to-eat meals for people unable to prepare meals on their own
  • Spruce up the parking lot between the JCC and JFS on Jerome Avenue
  • Shred documents ready for recycling
  • Assemble toiletry kits with shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, etc.
  • Help counselors refresh client workspaces by cleaning toys used for play therapy.
