Margate’s Cherry Blossom Festival, March 26, 2023.

MARGATE – The city will hold its second annual Cherry Blossom Festival noon to 4 p.m. Saturady, April 14 on the Parkway section when the city’s Kwanzan cherry trees are in bloom.

Families can escape winter hibernation and bask in the warm sunshine to mark the start of spring and the dawn of the summer season in Downbeach. The event is being presented by The Pet Salon. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite tie-dye T-shirts.

The Cherry Blossom Festival features pony rides, children’s games, live music from Grateful Dead tribute band Dead Reckoning, and tasty treats from TacoCat, California Frozen Yogurt, Harry and Beans Coffee and more. There will also be arts and crafts, a host of environmental exhibitors, and a “grooviest dog” contest on the mainstage at 2 p.m. To continue the fun, the festival will also feature a free mini-cornhole tournament, free tai chi lessons taught by Gerri Medoff, egg and spoon races, and much more. Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to spend the afternoon enjoying the fresh air and relaxing with friends and neighbors.
