Claudine Keenan

The Atlantic County Branch of the American Association of University Women will honor Dr. Claudine Keenan as this year’s Woman of Distinction noon-3 p.m. Saturday April 6 at the Carriage House, 25 Pitney Road in Galloway Township.

Keenan is interim vice provost and former dean of Education at Stockton University. She is the coordinator of Tech Trek, a STEM program/camp for high school girls sponsored by Stockton University and AAUW to foster interest in careers in sciences and engineering. She holds a membership on the NJ Board of Education, is a leader in the NJ Deans of Education Organization, was Inducted into the Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame, and has held various positions atStockton University, including as chief planning and budget officer.

AAUW-Atlantic County Branch was founded in 1917 by a group of proactive, professional women, who understood higher education is the key to women achieving equity in the workplace and in society. The Atlantic County branch was one of the first in the nation to adopt STEM model programs such as the TechTrek program and summer camp at Stockton. It also promotes scholarship and community outreach programs geared toward students and young professionals.

The deadline to register is March 20. Tickets are $60.
