Sharon Dickerson

ATLANTIC CITY – The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority recently announced the addition of two new senior staffers. Sharon Dickerson has been appointed general counsel and is the chief legal authority at the CRDA. Jerry Barnhart was appointed as director of the Special Improvement District.

Dickerson returned to the CRDA in June 2023 after serving three years as an assistant attorney general for finance with the NJ Department of Law and Public Safety Division of Law. Before that, she served as assistant general counsel for the CRDA for 13 years. Her prior experience includes 24 years serving as counsel for the NJ Department of Community Affairs, City of Atlantic City and numerous private law firms.

Jerry Barnhart

Barnhart, a Certified Public Manager,was appointed director of SID in January and has 27 years of wide-ranging leadership experience, including at the Atlantic City Police Department where he retired in 2021 as deputy chief of police. During his career he supervised and managed many different units and divisions within the department and forged relationships with the community, businesses, stakeholders and government officials. He was also chief instructor of the Atlantic County Police Academy. He graduated from the Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration, and has degrees from Northwestern University, and Towson University.
