Atlantic City Ballet performs ‘Swan Lake.’

The Atlantic City Ballet’s spring season, which includes three different ballets, starts with ballet’s most famous love story, “Swan Lake” being performed 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the Circus Maximus Theater at Caesars Atlantic City.

All of the ballets in the series will be performed at the Circus Maximus Theater, but an encore performance of Swan Lake will be performed 5 p.m. Sunday, April 14 at The Strand Theater in Lakewood.

Featuring the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in magical unison as the majestic swans, the romantic fable of dreamlike transformation set to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score inspires awe and wonder.

In keeping with the theme of love, the ballet follows up with the 8 p.m. Friday, May 10 performance of “La Sylphide,” which tells the story of an impossible love between a human and a spirit, and man’s inherent temptation for the unknown and sometimes dangerous life.

The final ballet in this love trilogy is “Coppelia.” 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8. The story centers on a toy maker, a life size doll, a smitten villager and his fiancé. A charming tale where toys come to life and the path to happily-ever-after takes a few detours.

Founded in 1982 by international ballerina Phyllis Papa, the Atlantic City Ballet is comprised of professional dancers from around the world and has earned national acclaim for its technical expertise and exuberant stage presence. Although its home base is at historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, the ballet has performed in theaters all along the East Coast.
