Margate Citywide Yardsale 2022

Aah, Spring! Time for spring cleaning and making room for more stuff.

Margate and Longport are partnering on a free Shredding Event Saturday, April 27 and homeowners will be holding their annual Citywide Yardsale the same day.

Participating in both events is a great way to get ready for summer visitors by eliminating household clutter and safely disposing of sensitive documents that contain personal information that should be kept confidential.

Margate shredding event 2020

The Margate-Longport shredding event will be held 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 27 at the Margate Public Works Yard, 101 N. Benson Ave. Participants must show proof of residence in Margate or Longport to take advantage of the free service. All paper collected will be shredded for recycling.

Also that day, both communities will hold their annual Citywide Yardsale Day, which provides residents with a great opportunity to sell everything from furniture and home décor to clothing and accessories. Shoppers also benefit by finding great deals on items placed in front yards in locations across the towns.

Ventnor City will also hold its free shredding event 10 a.m. to noon at the beachfront park on Newport Avenue. The event includes collecting textiles for recycling. Items collected will be repurposed to avoid being placed in a landfill.

Ventnor residents will have a few more weeks to gather up no longer wanted household items as the Ventnor City Community Yardsale Weekend will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23.

There is no cost to participate, but residents can signup to have their location put on a map that will be distributed to the community.
