Free rabies shots for pets will be available in Margate May 11.

MARGATE – The city will hold a free Rabies Clinic for cats and dogs 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, May 11 at Margate City Fire Station, 1 S. Washington Ave.

Protecting pets from rabies is important for their health and the safety of the community. Residents are encouraged to vaccinate their pets to not only protect the animals from the potentially fatal viral disease but also to protect family members from contracting the disease from an infected pet.

The clinic is free to Margate and Longport residents, and participants will be able to register their pets with their respective city. License fees are $6 for spayed/neutered pets and $9 for non-spayed, non-neutered pets. All pets should be leashed or in carriers.
