May 25 – Memorial Day Parade and Service

The Margate Mothers Association will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade 10 a.m. Monday, May 25. Line up at the Margate Municipal Building, 9001 Winchester Ave. (old Union Avenue school) and proceed to Atlantic Avenue where it will travel north to the War Memorial Park, where a service will be held.

June 7 – Le Tour de Downbeach

The 11th anniversary Le Tour de Downbeach bike ride, Sunday, June 7 (rain date June 14). Family friendly 14-mile bicycle tour begins on the Ventnor boardwalk, travels to Atlantic City with a police escort through Margate and Longport. Ends with a barbecue at Tomatoes’ restaurant on Amherst Ave. in Margate. Free water ice from Margate Dairy Bar & Burger. Pre-registration $25 per rider or $20 per four or more family members. June 11 – Margate Community Farmers Market

Weekly farmers market 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays, June 11 to Aug. 27 at Steve & Cookies By The Bay, Amherst and Monroe avenues. Includes 30 farmers and food vendors.

June 27 – Beachstock: The Planet’s Biggest Beach Party

Beachstock returns for its 10th year, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 27 (raindate June 28) on the beach between Huntington and Granville avenues. Fun activities, music and performances. Beach tags not required. See margatehasmore.com.

July 2 – Aug.27 – Thrilling Thursdays

Free beach days, sidewalk sales at local businesses and moonlight movies on the beach at Huntington Avenue. Fun activities start at 7 p.m. with movies starting at 7:30 p.m. See margatehasmore.com.

July 4 – Margate Mother’s Association Fireworks

Margate’s annual 4th of July fireworks display starts 9 p.m. on the beach at Huntington Avenue.

July 18-20 Lucy’s 139th Birthday Celebration

Celebrate 50 years of Lucy’s historic move to her current location on Decatur Avenue with the shortest parade in history. Activities TBA.

Aug. 7 – Margate Memorial Lifeguard Races

The 75th annual Margate Memorial Lifeguard Races hosted by Margate City Beach Patrol starting 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 on the beach at Decatur Avenue.

Sept.11- 9/11 Memorial Service

Margate City Fire Department will hold its annual 9-11 memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Sept. 26 & 27 – Margate Fall Funfest by the Bay

Margate’s 19th annual Fall Funfest By The Bay, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26 and 27. More than 125 vendor booths, music, nature tours, educational exhibits and more along the bayfront on Amherst Avenue. See margatehasmore.com.

Sept. 26 – Funfest After Dark

Funfest After Dark 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, features live music by Mas Tequila Orchestra, dancing, wine and spirits tasting. Tickets are $20 at the event. See margatehasmore.com

Sept. 27 – Steve and Cookie’s Dog Show

The 23rd annual dog show and contest will be held 1 p.m. at Steve & Cookies By The Bay, Amherst and Monroe avenues. Onsite registration starts at noon. Proceeds benefit Ocean City Animal Shelter. See steveandcookies.com.

Oct. 5-11 – Fire Prevention Week

The 2020 theme will be announced on June 1, includes fire safety presentations at various city locations, including schools and Bloom Pavilion.

Oct. 8 – MBA Wine Tasting (rescheduled from its original date on April 2)

The 18th annual MBA Wine Tasting fundraiser 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at Steve & Cookie’s By The Bay taps into new technology with an advanced virtual bidding system accessible from cell phone, mobile tablet or desktop.  Visit mbawine.com to bid and for tickets. Nov. 28 – Shop Local Weekend

The Margate businesses will offer family friendly activities, shopping discounts and a Show Us Your Rack parade on Ventnor Avenue, beginning noon Saturday, Nov. 28. Parade starts at Washington Avenue and proceeds to Bocca Coal Fired Bistro at Essex Avenue where children will meet a signing Santa, and enjoy free pizza and refreshments.
