DelMo Sports has issued a traffic advisory ahead of this weekend’s Ironman 70.3 Atlantic City triathlon. The triathlon, being held Sunday, Sept. 23, will impact the flow of traffic through Atlantic City, Downbeach, Absecon, Brigantine, Pleasantville and Egg Harbor Township.

The race begins at sunrise with a 1.2-mile sheltered swim in Atlantic City’s backbay. The 56-mile looped bike course starts at Bader Field and will take athletes through offshore communities and back to Bader Field via the Atlantic City Expressway. The 13.1-mile run course starts at Bader Field to the Boardwalk and south to the Ventnor Fishing Pier and back to the finish line at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

Atlantic City

Atlantic City Expressway (ACE) Exits 1 through 5 will be closed from 3:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Expect heavy traffic delays on Albany Avenue/US Rt. 322 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Use ACE to enter and exit the city.

Downbeach (Ventnor, Margate and Longport)

Entering from US Rt. 322, plan to use West End Avenue or Downbeach Express (Margate bridge and causeway toll road) into Margate to avoid Albany Avenue.

Brigantine

The Brigantine Tunnel will be closed.

Pleasantville and Egg Harbor Township

Expect traffic delays and detours along Delilah and Westcoat roads, Atl. Co. Rt. 651 and New Road from 7:39 a.m. to 1 p.m. Follow detour signs.

Absecon

Expect traffic delays and detours along Mill, Fire and Wescoat roads and Ohio Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
