LINWOOD – Women United’s Power of the Purse luncheon being held noon Thursday, June 6 at Linwood Country Club, 500 Shore Road, will honor three women who advocate for others.

The Power of the Purse Award celebrates the positive impact women make on our community and recognizes the outstanding contributions of women leaders who are dedicated to changing the lives of others.

This year, Women United will honor three exceptional leaders, advocates and philanthropists whose professional and personal accomplishments have made a positive impact in South Jersey. The honorees are Cape May County Freeholder E. Marie Hayes, Rona Z. Kaplan of Cooper Levenson law firm and Cumberland County College Interim President Shelly O. Schneider.

Women United also raises critical funds in support of Success By 6®, United Way’s early childhood development initiative.

The luncheon features a discussion about the power of philanthropy in early childhood education with keynote speaker Cecilia Zalkind, president and CEO of Advocates for Children of New Jersey.

Registration and networking will start a 11 a.m. with the luncheon and program at noon.

Tickets are $40 for Women United members, $50 for general admission.
