SMART Stockton Chapter to hold forum on cannabis jobs in New Jersey.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP –The public is invited to join SMART, the Student Marijuana Alliance for Research and Transparency Stockton University Chapter, Weedmaps and New Jersey Cannabis Industry Association for a discussion on the impact cannabis legalization will have on job creation and economic development in New Jersey 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 29 in L Wing, Room 112 at Stockton’s main campus, 101 Vera King Farris Drive.

The forum, “Canabis: The Future of Jobs in New Jersey,” includes Stockton students, faculty and industry professionals, who will discuss what marijuana legislation will mean for the Garden State’s economy and for those seeking a career in the industry.

With pending legislation to legalize the adult use of cannabis and greatly expand the existing medical cannabis program, New Jersey is poised to create tens of thousands of new jobs, according to SMART. The expert panelists will share insights on how cannabis can be a driver for local economic development and discuss the good jobs that the industry will create.

The panel will be moderated by Stockton University Adjunct Professor Bridget Hill Zayat, and will include Jenna Misciascio, president of SMART/Stockton University; Kelli Hykes, director of government relations for Weedmaps; Tim Weigand, dispensary and facilities manager for Compassionate Care Foundation; Kelley Crosson, vice president of the New Jersey Cannabis Industry Association; and Renato Paoli, assistant grower for Compassionate Care Foundation.
