READ & PLAY BABY

Little ones between the ages of 12-36 months to its young story time activity 10.30 a.m. Thursday morning. Come enjoy stories, songs, stretches, rhymes, puppets, felt boards, fingerplays and more with your child, all designed to develop early literacy skills. Ask how to join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program while you’re here!

ZOO TO YOU: ZOOBRARY VISIT

Animal ambassadors of the Cape May County Zoo 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. All ages are invited for this special “zoo- brary” event, and learn about the importance of conservation.Which animals will they bring? Come and find out.You may even get to pet one!

Open chess program for all ages noon – 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, A.ug 3-31. Exercise your mind! We welcome all to the challenge of playing a friendly game of chess along with others.

SPACE CAMP: MOONY MONDAYS

Atlantic County Library System/Ventnor offers “Space Camp: Moony Mondays” this summer on Mondays, August 5, 12 and 19 at 2 pm.The free program is suggested for ages 7-10. Join the branch in celebrating the Summer Reading Program 2019 theme with fun, space-themed crafts. Make something unique – even out of this world.

GATHERING WOOL

Adults invited to join a quilting and knit- ting group that meets every 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Aug. 6-27.The program is free and all levels of experience are welcome. Join the group to stitch, loop, craft and chat. Do you love to knit or crochet? Or would you like to learn how to create original handcrafted blankets, scarves, sweaters and more? You won’t find a cozier club anywhere!

A UNIVERSE OF MOVIES FILM SERIES

Weekly film series 5-7:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 6, 13 and 20 in keeping with the Summer Reading Program 2019 theme, “A Universe of Stories.” The movies are suggested for adults and interested teens; contact the branch for titles. Celebrate the galaxy with a collection of modern and classic science fiction films and out-of-this-world documentaries.

SHOW-AND-TELL SERIES

Special show-and-tell series 5-7 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 7, 14 and 21. Ages 5-10 are invited to share their favorite something. Registration is requested. Bring your treasures and explain why they are special. Each session will feature a different theme: Wednesday, Aug. 7 – Geo-COOL! (rocks rock!); Wednesday, Au. 14 – Toys; Wednesday, Au. 21- Friends (imaginary welcomed).

CELEBRATE WOODSTOCK

Commemorate the anniversary of Woodstock during regular branch hours Thursday, Aug.15 through Monday, Aug. 19. Celebrate with music, films and colorful crafts.

INTO THE EVENING BOOK CLUB

Monthly book club for adults 6:15 p.m Thursday, Aug. 22. Join in the discussion of great books in good company. August’s chosen selection is “Under the Wide and Starry Sky” by Nancy Horan.
