PLEASANTVILLE – There’s going to be a Category 5 “Purricane” in Pleasantville through the end of the month.

Residents who may be considering adopting a cat or kitten are encouraged to take advantage of the current promotion at the Atlantic County Animal Shelter. Beginning Sunday, Sept. 15 and continuing through Monday, Sep. 30, the regular $85 pet adoption fee will be reduced to $25 to help increase pet adoptions.

The shelter offers felines of various ages and temperaments, many of which are already neutered or spayed and available for immediate release to eligible adopters. Shelter adoptions include age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and a free veterinary consultation.

The shelter is open to the public seven days a week, 1-4 p.m. with the exception of Tuesday when it closes at 3 p.m.. It is located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville.
