ATLANTIC CITY – Little Rock Films and Studios has put out a casting call for extras for “48 Blocks,” a television series being filmed in the Atlantic City area.

The show, billed as “48 Blocks: Where ‘The Wire’ meets ‘This Is Us,’” is set against the grit and glitter of current day Atlantic City. The story follows the lead character, Vernon “King” Carter, a former NBA star under pressure from enemies who are determined to see him fall from grace. It’s a story about crime and personal discovery that casts an eye on “doing the right thing.” The series shines a spotlight on Atlantic City and its diversity, according to the 48 Blocks website.

Little Rock, led by actor/producer Dina Engle and cinematographer Sherry McCracken, both of Ventnor, is seeking non-union talent to portray various background roles, such as barber shop customers, funeral and City Council meeting attendees, basketball players, high school teens, bar and restaurant patrons, casino lounge patrons and band members, strip club patrons, Boardwalk bicyclists and pedestrians.

The only payment extras receive is IMDB credit and food, according to a release seeking participation.

Interested parties can obtain more information on how to apply at Little Rock Films & Studio on Facebook or email dina@littlerockfilmsandstudios.com.
