GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP – Two golf tournaments held at Seaview Hotel and Golf Club Sept. 12 raised more than $159,000 for The Arc of Atlantic County.

The Arc of Atlantic County Golf Pro-Am Tournament and the 11th Annual I. Rice & Company Golfing for Good Invitational Tournament included more than 250 golfers playing two concurrent golf tournaments to support educational opportunities and recreational activities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Since its inception in 2008, the I. Rice & Company Golfing for Good Tournament and The Arc of Atlantic County Pro-Am, now in its third year, have raised more than $916,000 for The Arc of Atlantic County.

“The Arc of Atlantic County is honored to, once again, be the recipient of the proceeds of this tournament,” The Arc CEO Scott Hennis said. “For the past 11 years, our friends at I. Rice & Company have worked tirelessly to support this fundraising effort.”

The Golfing for Good Invitational includes golfers from the Philadelphia region food and beverage industry. The Pro-Am is a PGA sanctioned event with a prize purse that ranks among the highest pro-am prize purses in New Jersey.

“I. Rice & Company is proud to support The Arc of Atlantic County and the valuable work they do.” I. Rice President Steve Kuhl said. “Our vendors, customers and staff have come together for 11 years to raise money for this worthy cause, which is championed by CEO Joe DiMedio and myself. The funds raised support case management services, and educational and recreational programs that provide people with I/DD opportunities to develop new skills, increase social interaction, and strive to have an active, inclusive role, in the local community.”

The Arc of Atlantic County works to improve the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through direct services, advocacy, education and prevention activities and serves nearly 800 individuals and their families.
